Peugeot RC Hybrid4 - 2008

This Peugeot is a concept car which was presented at Geneva Motor Show and they say it is the most beautiful hybrid ever. It has a rear mid engine, and the electric motor in front of the car. The rear engine is 1.6 litres turbo in 4 cilindres, developing 216 bhp plus the extra 95 bhp from the electric engine, results that the car had a total of 313 bhp. Lithium-ion batteries are placed in the middle of the car to balance out the weight and for a lower center of gravity. It had a manual gearbox, and a body of carbon fiber and 19" wheels. 0-100 in 4.4 seconds.









Mercedes 540K - 1936

This car had been built from 1936 to 1940. It was presented at Paris Motor Show in 1936. It had a 5.4 litres engine, 115 bhp and a Roots Supercharger which could have been manually enabled or automatically when the throttle was pressed at maximum. With this supercharger, the car had 180 bhp and could reach the speed of 170 km/h. It had a rear wheel driving, a manual gearbox and hidraulic brakes.














Bentley Continental SuperSports - 2009

Bentley said this is the strongest copy they ever made. It has an 6 litres W12 engine which develops 640 bhp and a torque of 800 Nm. 0-100 in 4 seconds and 0-160 in 9.4 seconds. There will be only 100 copies so the price will rise to 190.000 pounds.










Mercedes McLaren SLR - 2003

Because of the automatic gearbox, mid engine and its driving characteristics, many people consider it a GT  which may compete with cars like Aston Martin DBS V12 or Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano. Base price is $450.000 and in 2009, reached the 9th place of the most expensive cars you can drive everyday. It has ceramic brakes and the Mercedes say that they resist up to 1200° C. For improving the breaking performances there is an air breaking system which raises the rear spoiler at 65° and creates a force that keeps the car on the ground, which decelerate 90% faster. The engine has 290 kg, 6 litres V8 which develops 617 bhp and a torque of 780 Nm @3250-5000 rpm. It has an automatic gearbox, AMG SpeedShift R. The car's body is composed of carbon fiber to reduce the weight (1750kg). 0-100 in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 339 km/h.















Porsche Tapiro - 1970

Porsche Tapiro is a concept from 1970, based on Porsche 914/6. Butterfly doors and the 2.4 litres engine with 220 bhp was visible from the outside. It had a lenght of 4 metres, width 1.7 metres and height of 1.1 metres.














Ford GT90 - 1995

Ford GT90 is a concept car, presented in January 1995. GT90 was built in a small team in aproximately 6 months so a lot of parts were borrowed from the Jaguar XJ220, like the suspension and the gearbox. It had a Lincoln 4.6 litres V8 engine. The final engine, 6 litres V12 plus 4 turbines, produced 720 bhp. Top speed 378 km/h and the temperature from the exhaust would have been so high that it would burn the body of the car. The car appeared in some games, like Need For Speed 2, Sega GT 2002 and TOCA Race Driver 2.













Dauer 962 - 1993

Dauer 962 is based on Porsche 962. It has a Porsche 962 engine, 3 litres biturbo, 740 bhp, torque of 700 Nm @5000 rpm. Manual gearbox and a weight of 1080 kg. 0-100 km in 2.6 seconds and top speed of 404 km/h.

Saleen S7 - 2000

The Saleen S7 is a limited production (2000-2004), hand built, high performance american automobile. It had a 7 litres V8 rear mid engine, with 550 bhp and rear wheel drive. The body of the car is made entirely from carbon fiber and weights 1247 kg. Other features of the car are LCD monitor, rear-view camera, quick-release steering-wheel and a 240 mile per hour (386 km/h) speedometer. The cabin is of an asymmetrical layout, with the custom-fitted driver's seat positioned toward the center both to improve the driver's visibility and center their weight in the vehicle. 
Performance: 0-100 km: 3.8 seconds and top speed: 322 km/h.














SSC Ultimate Aero - 2006

SSC Ultimate Aero is an american car, with a mid engine, and no ABS or traction control. Was the fastest car in the world up to the point where Bugatti announced the Veyron Super Sports. The entire body of the car is from carbon fibre and titanium, and weights 1300 kg. It has a 6.3 litres V8 supercharged Chevrolet engine, 1062 bhp and a torque of 1357 Nm @5800 rpm. The theory tells us that the car should have a top speed of 438 km/h, it actually has only 418 km/h. It accelerates from 0-100 in just 2.78 seconds, slower than the Bugatti Veyron which achives 0-100 km in just 2.46 seconds partially due to its AWD drivetrain.






Yamaha OX99 - 1992

Yamaha started to participate in F1 from 1989 and using the experience they gained, they decided to build a new car that can rely on the F1 car. Even if the performances were lower in the championship, in 1991 they developed a new engine, OX99, which was a 3.7 litres V12 with 400 bhp. It had a carbon fiber chassis and the OX99 engine (same as the F1 car). The price of the car was $800.000 (above$1 million in 2006).

Vector W12 - 1995

This model was built from 1995-1999 and was a Lamborghini Diablo with a new body. The engine was a 5.7 litres Lamborghini V12, 492 bhp with a torque of 576 Nm @5200 rpm. Weight: 1600 kg, 0-100 km: 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 304 km/h. Production rate stopped in 1999 because Vector couldn't pay to Lamborghini for the engines. The car appeared in a few games, like: Gran Turismo 2, Mercedes Benz World Racing and Sports Car GT.

Chrysler ME-412 - 2004

Chrysler ME-412 is a concept car, with a cabon fiber and aluminium body which weights 1310 kg. Around 300 copy's were built in United States of America. Top speed of 400 km/h with a duble clutch system and flappy paddle gearbox. It is said that it is much faster than a Mercedes SLR. Chrysler wanted to built it, but their partner at that time, Mercedes didn't agree. It had a 7 litres AMG V12 engine with 4 turbo chargers which developed 850 bhp @5750 rpm. Torque of 1150 Nm @2500-4500 rpm.










Mosler MT900 - 2001

MT900 had a fiber carbon chassis with a V8 engine and rear traction. 5.7 litres V8 engine produced 350 bhp and a torque of 475 Nm. Weight: 1175kg, 0-100 km in just 3.5 seconds and could reach a top speed of 241 km/h. Urban consumption was 12.4 L/100 km and extra-urban consumption 8.4L/100 km. MT900 costs US$164.000 and only 14 copy's were built.















Mazda RX500 - 1970

In 1970s, this car was the star from Tokio Motor Show. It had a futuristic aspect, scissors doors for passengers and butterfly doors at the engine. Weight: 500kg, the body was made of plastic. Top speed of 200 km/h. In the back of the car it had a set of green lights, which were turned on when you were accelerating, one of yellow lights when the speed was constant and you hit the brake pedal, the lights turned red and as hard as you pressed the pedal, the brighter the lights were. Engine produced 245 bhp.

Cizeta Moroder V16T - 1991

V16 engine, 540 bhp (402.7 kW), manual gearbox, weight 1700 kg and a top speed of 328 km/h.
0-100 km: 4 seconds. In 1991, the price of the car was  €250,000 and now it costs  €650,000.















Spyker C8 Spyder - 2000

4.2 litres V8 engine from Audi, developing 400 bhp (298 kW), with a maximum speed of 300 km/h.
Weight: 1250 kg. Petrol tank: 75 litres. Performance: 0-100 km: 4.5 seconds.



TVR Speed 12 - 1998

The most powerful TVR from '90. It was built to humiliate any McLaren F1.
Price: £188,000 - most expensive TVR ever built.
Performance: 0-100 km in just 2.9 seconds; weight: 1000 kg, 800bhp (597 kW), top speed: 390 km/h












Ford Indigo - 1996

Ford Indigo - Concept car
Only 2 exemplars were built and only one was functionable. It had a 6L, V12 engine which produced 435 bhp (324 kW). Consumption: 8.4L/100 km.
